Florida author, Carol Adams, REALTOR® wife, mother, grandmother and family cook, has just released the second edition of "FOUR GENERATIONS AND MORE" Cookbook .
Carol's grandmother Jettie Pearl Walter married and went to housekeeping in 1898 and cooked great meals and famous biscuits with only a coal/wood burning stove. Her daughter, Velma Rantz went to housekeeping in 1925 and had 2 daughters, Ruth and Carol. The four of them spent many hours together in the kitchen perfecting their recipes. Velma became well known in her community by baking and delivering pies and Buttermilk Sugar Cookies to shut-ins and to anyone who needed cheering up. Ruth and Carol passed down their love of cooking to their 7 children. So all have contributed to the tasty, easy, home tested 220+ recipes in the new "FOUR GENERATIONS AND MORE"Cookbook.
Many friends and relatives have added to the variety and scope of the recipes and some have been around so long, there is no way of knowing when or where they started.
The "OLDEST RECIPE " is, of course, Grandma's Biscuits.
The "MOST FAMOUS' is Velma's Buttermilk Sugar Cookies.
The "MOST INTERESTING" is Sand Art Brownies.
The "FUNNIEST" is doggie treats.
The "MOST UNUSUAL" is the way the book stands up, for easy reading.
The "MOST TASTY", well the jury is still out.
